Our 2018 Class
Thus far, our outstanding 2018 class hails from 19 countries (and all continents) and represents philosophy, medicine, human rights, public health, law, technology, and many other fields. As of April 9, we are still accepting applications. Click here for a class list.
Our Program
Our 2-month summer institute offers over 200 contact hours of bioethics lectures, seminars, and events. Main program events include:
- Our novel ”Foundations in Bioethics” program - ACCME’s provided!;
- A visit to the esteemed Hastings Center;
- Morning lectures on a wide range of bioethics topics (Monday-Thursdays);
- Morning lectures on methods and arguments in bioethics (Fridays);
- Options to choose from over 30 afternoon seminars;
- A visit to Connecticut Hospice (the nation’s first hospice);
- Special events with Dr. Joseph Fins and others;
- Special tours of the collections at Yale museums, The Cushing Center’s collection of brain specimens, and Yale’s Medical Historical Library;
- Professional development sessions;
- Small-group sessions;
- Optional bioethics movie nights with faculty;
- Panel discussions;
- Poster session by program participants in the hallowed halls of the Medical Historical Library at Yale School of Medicine;
- Our annual banquet and alumni events.

Documentation
- Upon completion of the program, participants who meet expectations will receive a certificate.
- Some of our participants will seek credit from their sponsoring institutions. These participants will be provided with a summary of the work they completed. Here is a sample Student Summary document that may be sent to their advisors.
